Description: Join Skipton Choral for a Baroque spectacular featuring pieces from Italian masters Monteverdi, Scarlatti and Pergolesi.
Pergolesi’s ‘Confitebor tibi Domine’ deserves much more recognition than it gets, truly rivalling the better known ‘Gloria’ by Vivaldi in both quality and exuberance, while Alessandro Scarlatti’s Magnificat takes us all the way from heart-wrenching opening chords through dances and chorales to a thrilling fugal ‘Amen’.
Performed on period instruments by the incredible Otley Baroque Ensemble (leader Asuka Sumi), Skipton Choral are also joined by an accomplished quintet of soloists:
